Secure Profit Tool — Manual

What This Tool Does

Secure Profit Tool watches your open trades and automatically closes them once price reaches a level you set — protecting profit or limiting loss without you having to sit and watch the chart. You place a line where you want it (either by dragging it yourself, or by having the tool calculate it for you from recent price action), and once price gets there, your trades close automatically.

It works on one chart at a time — whatever symbol you attach it to is the only symbol it ever touches, even if you have other trades open elsewhere on your account.

---

Quick Start

  1. Attach the tool. In MT5, open the Navigator panel (View menu ? Navigator, or press Ctrl+N). Under Expert Advisors, find "Secure Profit Tool" and drag it onto your chart.
  2. Enter your license PIN in the settings window that pops up, under the Licensing section, then click OK.
  3. A row of buttons appears on the top-left of your chart. If you have an open trade, click Show Buy Trail (for a buy trade) or Show Sell Trail (for a sell trade). A horizontal line appears on your chart at the current price.
  4. Drag that line to wherever you want your trade to close — above your entry to lock in profit, or wherever makes sense for your strategy.
  5. That's it. Once price reaches the line, your trade closes automatically, and you'll see a message in your MT5 Journal (or Experts tab, in the bottom panel of MT5) confirming what happened.

Everything below explains the options in more detail.

The Basics: Buy and Sell Lines

Each direction — buy and sell — has its own independent line, its own color, and its own settings. You don't have to use both; if you only have a buy trade open, you only need the buy line.

Showing and hiding a line: click "Show Buy Trail" or "Show Sell Trail" to create the line; the button changes to "Hide Buy Trail" so you can click it again to remove the line. Removing the line does not close your trade — it just stops watching for that trigger.

The line is always draggable. Click and drag it directly on your chart, the same way you'd move any line in MT5, to reposition it wherever you want.

A used line disappears on its own. Once a line's condition is met and it closes your trade(s), it automatically hides itself — it won't sit there waiting to trigger again on the same spot. If you want to trail again, click "Show" for that direction once more.

Choosing How the Line Triggers

Click the "Buy: [mode]" or "Sell: [mode]" button to cycle through four choices. Each click moves to the next one:

| Mode | What it closes | When it fires |
|---|---|---|
| Profit@Break | Only trades currently in profit | Once a full candle finishes closing beyond the line |
| Profit@Touch | Only trades currently in profit | The instant price touches the line |
| All@Break | Every trade in that direction | Once a full candle finishes closing beyond the line |
| All@Touch | Every trade in that direction | The instant price touches the line |

In plain terms: "Touch" reacts instantly the moment price gets there — faster, but can react to a brief spike that reverses right away. "Break" waits for a full candle to finish beyond the line before acting — slightly slower, but filters out momentary spikes. "Profit" only closes what's currently winning, leaving anything still losing open. "All" closes everything in that direction regardless of whether it's winning or losing.

If you're not sure where to start: All@Break is a reasonable, cautious default — it won't react to a single brief wick, and it closes everything cleanly once triggered.

Positioning the Line Automatically (Candle-Based Mode)

Instead of dragging the line yourself, you can have the tool calculate and continuously update it from recent price action.

To turn this on: click "Buy Line: Manual" to switch it to "Buy Line: Candle-Based" (and the same for Sell). This is off by default — until you click it, dragging the line yourself is exactly how it behaves.

What it actually does: it looks back at a recent candle on a timeframe you choose, and places the line at that candle's high (for a sell line) or low (for a buy line) — with a little extra breathing room if you want it. It then re-checks this every time a new candle forms, and only ever moves the line in your favor — a sell line only ever moves down, a buy line only ever moves up. It will never move the line backward to a worse position.

The settings that control this, found in your EA's input settings under "Candle-Based Line":

You can still drag the line yourself even in this mode. If you manually move it to a better position than the tool would have calculated, your position is respected — the automatic update won't overwrite it backward.

The Other Buttons

CLOSE ALL — immediately closes every trade you have open on this symbol, both directions.

CLOSE ALL BUY / CLOSE ALL SELL — closes every trade in just that direction.

CLOSE BUY PROFITS / CLOSE SELL PROFITS — closes only the trades in that direction that are currently winning; anything currently losing is left open.

These all work immediately when clicked — they don't depend on the trail lines at all, and they work even if your license isn't currently active.

If support sends you a message, it'll appear on your chart with a button to acknowledge you've read it.

Frequently Confusing Things

"I dragged the line but it moved back on its own." This only happens in Candle-Based mode, and only if the tool's own calculation is actually more favorable than where you put it — in that case, it's doing its job, not overriding you incorrectly.

"The line disappeared and I didn't touch it." Check your Journal/Experts tab for a message right around that time — most likely, price reached the line and it closed your trade(s) automatically, then hid itself as designed. That's expected behavior, not a bug.

"I changed a setting and nothing happened." Settings changes usually require removing the tool from your chart and dragging it back on again — just clicking Save in the settings window isn't always enough for MT5 to pick up the change.

"The line jumped to a strange spot right after I attached the tool." This can happen briefly in Candle-Based mode if you picked a different timeframe than your chart's own, and MT5 hasn't finished loading that timeframe's history yet. It corrects itself automatically within moments — no action needed on your part.
